43rd Annual American Crossword Puzzle Tournament
April 23-25, 2021
Registration for the 43rd American Crossword Puzzle Tournament is open! For the first time the event will be online-only.
With the help of our friends at Amuse Labs and Plug in Play, the virtual ACPT incorporates all the elements of the usual in-person event that we could fit in -- including eight top-notch puzzles by leading constructors presented over the weekend, bonus Friday and Saturday night puzzles and games, video entertainments, chat rooms, $6,000 in prizes, and a playoff Sunday afternoon among the top three solvers (with live commentary). Results will be announced in 24 categories, including (new this year) pairs.
The full schedule can be found here. Registration is here. Noncompetitors can register here. The deadline to register is Noon ET on Friday, April 23.
Sample crosswords have been posted for you to practice on. Doing these will help you make sure that your computer is compatible with the competition format.
This opens an exciting new chapter in the history of the ACPT. I hope you'll take part!
