Minnesota Crossword Tournament
June 12, 2016 • 12-5PM • Landmark Center, Downtown Saint Paul
Solvers in each of three brackets - Amateur, Expert and Teams (of up to four players) - will tackle original crossword puzzles created and edited specially for this tournament. Scoring to be based on accuracy and speed. Solvers with the highest combined scores from the first three rounds will move on to the finals, with championship puzzles to be solved in front of the crowd.
Spectators will be provided copies of the puzzles to play along.
Complimentary snacks and coffee at the tournament; other bars and restaurants nearby.
Solvers and spectators alike will enjoy an entertaining day of suspense, surprises and fun.
Proceeds support the mission of The Friends of the Saint Paul Public Library.
Limited to 200 individual competitors and 25 teams.
Can't make it but want to try at home? Puzzles will be available for purchase after the event.

Fourth Annual Finger Lakes Crossword Competition

Tompkins Learning Partners (TLP) of Ithaca announces Central New York’s premier crossword event, the Fourth Annual Finger Lakes Crossword Competition
on Saturday, March 19th, 2016 from 2-4:15pm. This event is an important fundraiser for TLP, a LiteracyNY affiliated non-profit organization, which provides literacy tutoring, free of charge, for over 100 adults in our community. Puzzlemaster Adam Perl, whose puzzles have been published in The New York Times
, will once again create three original crosswords for the event. Individuals, or teams of up to four, are invited to compete for prizes in one of three levels of difficulty.
Individuals may play for $50.00. The cost for a team of four is $150.00. Thanks to generous sponsors, some complimentary spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. If interested in underwriting or sponsorships, call Gary Weissbrot, Event Chair, at 607-793-8010, for more information.
